In today’s episode, Dr. Fiona Edwards-Akunesiobike deep dives into the harsh realities Black Canadian youth face when it comes to their mental health. With a focus on the Afro-Caribbean communities in Southern urban Ontario areas, Dr. Edwards-Akunesiobike takes us through the challenges and ways that many of these youths access mental health care. Throughout, she emphasizes the need for validation, and how this population needs new spaces in order for them to succeed.
